This is the General Use Tariff for Electricity in KiloWatt hours that you purchase from the Energy Retailer.  You can find this information on your Electricity Bill or on the Electricity Retailer’s website.

This is what the Energy Retailer will pay you for Electricity from your Solar PV System that you have exported to the grid.

You can find out this information on the Energy Retailer’s Website.  It pays to shop around! This can make a big difference!

When your Solar System is working, you are offsetting the energy used in your home or business.  The excess energy is then fed back into the grid.  The more energy you use during the day and the less at night can make a large impact on your savings.

Simply, What you run during the sun hours of the day is free and you pay for electricity from the grid at night.

Generally a Residential home would sit between 30% to 50% offset.  This depends on factors such as if they are home during the day and what appliances they would run during the day.  Good examples to reach a higher offset would include a pool pump or an Air Con.

Business’s Generally often will reach the 100% offset quite easily.  This is not uncommon and results in huge savings.

When selecting the battery option; make sure to set the Solar Feed In Tariff to ‘0’.  In a Battery Hybrid or Off-grid arrangement Energex require ‘0’ export.  The sizes shown on this option are common Hybrid Battery sizes.

When the Solar is generating during the day, the excess energy is then stored into the battery for use at night.
